In 2004 Eric began working with Scott Platts of Stonetree Guitars in Saratoga, WY. Eric and Scott have developed 3 signature guitars that are built from scratch by Scott, one at a time.
The first guitar Scott built for Eric was the Roscoecaster. Based on his ’66 Telecaster Custom with the thick headstock and laid on maple fretboard the guitar features a great parts set including stainless steel frets, the great sounding Callaham bidge and handwound pickups from Lindy Fralin.
The Roscoecaster was an immediate hit with great players. Scott and Eric worked on their first original design the Roscoe Deluxe. The Deluxe would be a semi-hollow mahogany guitar with a spruce top, 2 special Lindy Fralin split coil P-90 style pickups (the P-92), open back Waverly tuners and a Bigsby B-5 Tailpiece. The Roscoe Deluxe was greeted by raves at Guitar Player Magazine’s website. The Deluxe is available in both Standard and Sr. sizes.
The newest design from Scott and Eric is the solidbody hard tail Roscoe Special. Fat headstock, deep neck pocket, 2 piece mahogany body, a pair of P-90’s and a special compensated aircraft aluminum tailpiece round out the feature set. The Special is a very light guitar with a big sound.
